The Moroccan ancient imperial cities of Meknes, Fes and Marrakech are rich, vibrant, colourful and exotic. This journey encompasses the snake charmers, scribes and soothsayers of the medieval Djemaa el Fna Square in Marrakech and adventures on foot or by quad bike in the Atlas Mountains. The art of cooking Moroccan style is an optional highlight experience of this fascinating tour.

Day 1:
Arrive Casablanca
A royal welcome to this imperial kingdom of North Africa with a VIP meet and greet at the airport, followed by a private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat (B)
This morning explore Casablanca. Highlights include the fascinating Old Medina and Hassan II Mosque, a dominating structure that can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers at a time. This afternoon drive to Rabat where you will explore the superbly preserved relics of its Moorish past including the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Kasbah des Oudaias. Rabat hotel (choice of category)

Day 3: Rabat-Meknes-Fes (B,L)
Travel to Meknes, one of the Imperial Cities of Morocco where the impressive monuments reflect the splendour of this 17th century city. Visit Bab Mansour gateway and the Medrassa Bou Inania. Continue on to the Roman ruined city of Volubilis with its beautifully preserved mosaics dating back to the 2nd and 3rd century AD

Day 4: Fes (B,D)
Organise your day to suit. Choose two of the following activities: a sightseeing tour of the city including the Medina, the Karaouine Mosque, the walled town and the bustling souks; travel outside Fes into the countryside to the village of Bhalil where local resident Mohammed Chraibi will introduce you to his unique cave home; dine in the magical riad of La Maison Bleue; or experience traditional Moroccan hospitality dining in the home of a local family.

Day 5: Fes – Marrakech (B,L)
Depart to the south-west for Marrakech passing through the Berber villages of Immouzer de Kandar and Azrou, Ifrane and Beni-Mellal. Arrive Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Marrakech (B)
Explore the souks, bazaars, gardens and palaces of this fascinating city. A morning historical tour of Marrakech, including a visit to the city’s architectural attractions starting with Medrassa Ben Youssef, one of the jewels of Marrakech, and the 11th century Koubba Almoravid, one of the town’s first fountains. Continue on to the intriguing souk Smarine (clothing souk) and the famous Djemaa-el Fna square where you will see groups of acrobats, drummers, snake charmers and a whole festival of musicians and street entertainers. Continue on to see the palaces of Marrakech, including Badii Palace and Bahia Palace.

Day 7: Marrakech (B,D)
A day to explore this amazing, pink-hued, imperial city. Choose one of the following activities: drive to the Berber village of Imlil and meet with your mountain guide and mule escorts for a days trekking in the Atlas Mountains; or if food is your passion, unravel the secrets of fine Moroccan cuisine with a visit to a cooking school; Tonight there is a dinner at the renowned ‘Yacout’ or Palais Soleyman restaurant

Day 8: Depart Marrakech (B)
A transfer to Marrakech airport.
