Budapest Tour Package
Budapest, the capital is a fine example of the graceful Baroque architecture typical of Hungary, but also offers a lively social scene through its arts and relaxed café culture. Some of the finest thermal spas still exist in the city and are as much a part of local life as a relaxing treat for visitors.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Budapest
Arrival into Budapest and private transfer to the Kempinski Hotel.
Day 2: Budapest (B)
Sightseeing tour of Buda. Visit the mid-13th century Mathias church and Fishermen’s Bastion, a great panoramic lookout point. Walk the cobbled stone streets of the area, packed with medieval buildings, outdoor cafes and quaint shops. Visit Gellert Hill, with a stunning view of the whole city. Then tour Szentendre, a charming medieval artists’ village with many traditional restaurants, art galleries and museums, only 10 miles from Budapest. Lunch in a local restaurant. (optional) Evening program: Dinner in the famous Gundel Restaurant or, a spectacular 1 hour river cruise on the Danube with all the illuminated sights of Budapest (optional).
Day 3: Budapest (B)
Half day sightseeing tour of Pest. Visit Heroes’ square, built for the Hungarian millennium and City Park with Vajdahunyad Castle. Drive along Andrassy Boulevard and stop to visit St. Stephen’s Basilica and the Parliament House with the 1000-year-old crown jewels. Lunch in Budapest. (Optional) Afternoon program: Half day excursion to Gödöllõ, 18 miles from Budapest. Visit Grassalkovich Palace, formerly used as a state royal summer residence, one of the most outstanding examples of rural baroque architecture in Hungary. Evening program: Dinner and/or concert or opera (optional)
Day 4: (B) Departure from Budapest and private transfer to the airport.
