This Vietnam tour will give you a taste of life on the Mekong River and its tributaries. The tour starts in Ho Chi Minh City and from there you travel to Cai Be. Here you board a boat and cruise down into the heart of the Mekong Delta, viewing life as the local population does. En route stops are made at floating markets, you will have the chance to eat tropical fruits in lush orchards, look into the art of Bonsai and have tea in a typical boathouse.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long (L,D)
Your Vietnam tour starts with a drive through the Mekong Delta to Cai Be floating market; from here you board a river vessel for a cruise along the waterways of the Mekong. One of our stops will be to a small restaurant serving the local delicacies on the river. You arrive at the lush orchards of Vinh Long where you spend the night in a local house.
Day 2: Vinh Long - Can Tho(B, L)
You cruise to visit one Bonsai Garden and a handicraft village to see how pop rice, coconut candy, rice paper, bricks and pottery items are made. We will arrive in Vinh Long Town on time for lunch. After lunch we drive to the city of Can Tho, considered to be the heart of the Mekong Delta.
Day 3: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City(B)
Before making the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City you board a motor vessel to visit Cai Rang floating market and fruit gardens in Can Tho.
