Highlights of Argentina
From the glaciers of Patagonia to the tango halls of Buenos Aires, Argentina is a land of stunning landscapes and friendly people. Argentina has a long, colourful history of indigenous, criollo and European influences that have blended to form the unique identity it enjoys today. One of the most popular destinations in Latin America, Argentina boasts a level of culture and sophistication that complements the natural beauty of the land.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Buenos Aires
On arrival, you transferred to the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau for three nights. In the afternoon, a private city tour.
Day 2: Buenos Aires (B,D)
You will be met for a cultural heritage tour of Buenos Aires that features a selection of the city’s best art collections. This evening, enjoy a tango show at Rojo Tango and a dinner of Argentine beef or salmon.
Day 3: Colonia Del Sacramento Day Trip (B)
You will be transferred to the pier to catch the boat to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, a charming town that is a marked contrast to Buenos Aires. The peace of the Calle de los Suspiros is undisturbed by anything other than the occasional mule or bicycle. Return to Buenos Aires in the afternoon.
Day 4: Buenos Ares - Mendoza (B)
You will be transferred for your flight to Mendoza, * one of the most attractive cities in the country, full of tree-lined avenues, large squares, and parks. Mendoza is the wine-producing seat of Argentina. On arrival you will be transferred to the Park Hyatt Mendoza for one night. An afternoon city tour is provided.
*Please note that baggage allowance is restricted to 15 kg per person in economy class and 20 kg in business class.
Day 5: Mendoza (B,L,D)
Enjoy an excursion into the Andes Mountains. Upon return, you will be taken to the Cavas Wine Lodge where you will spend the next two nights in rooms that have private terraces overlooking the vineyards.
Day 6: Mendoza (B,L,D)
Take a tour of the local wineries. Return to the lodge, where you may enjoy rafting, bicycle-riding, or horseback riding. Included in your visit to Cavas Wine Lodge is a one-hour massage.
Day 7: Mendoza – Bariloche (B)
A morning transfer for your flight to Bariloche. Set in the western region of the province of Río Negro, Bariloche is in the heart of Nahuel Huapi National Park, an area of pristine forests and snow-capped mountain peaks. On arrival, you will be transferred to the Llao Llao Hotel for three nights. In the afternoon enjoy a half-day excursion alongside Nahuel Huapi Lake visiting Melipal, Playa Bonita, Moreno Lake, Puerto Pañuelo, Lopez Bay, and Panoramic Point.
Day 8: Victoria Island Excusion (B)
You will be transferred to Puerto Pañuelo Pier to board a catamaran for a beautiful scenic trip that crosses Nahuel Huapi Lake, arriving at Quetrihue Peninsula. Walk along some of the many beautiful paths that cross this forested island.
Day 9: Llao Llao Resort (B)
You have the option of spending the day at leisure in Llao Llao Resort or taking the private touring option outlined below:
Mount Tronador Excursion (October - March): a full day excursion to Mount Tronador and Los Alerces Cascade.
Day 10: Bariloche – El Calafate (B,D)
You will be transferred for your flight to El Calafate, the gateway to the glaciers. On arrival you will be transferred to Los Notros for three nights. Los Notros is located within Los Glaciares National Park that was established in 1937 and declared a World Heritage region by UNESCO in 1981. Here you will enjoy an unobstructed view of the spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier. Evening at leisure.
*Please note that El Calafate is best visited between September and the beginning of May.
Day 11: Perito Moreno – Glacier Excursion (B,L,D)
Enjoy a full day visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier. Unlike the other surviving glaciers that are fed from the Southern Ice Field, Perito Moreno is the only one that is not receding. You may choose to take a guided hike on the glacier, a boat journey along the channel below, or just relax in one of the viewing areas directly in front of the glacier.
Day 12: Upsala & Onelli Glacier Excursion. (B)
A full day boat excursion to the Upsala and Onelli glaciers. After lunch, take a short walk through the forest to Lake Onelli. From its edge you will have a magnificent view of four glaciers. Return by boat to the hotel.
Day 13: El Calafate – Depart from Buenos Aires (B)
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires.
