Walking tour in France - A walk in alpine meadows
For anyone who enjoys a blend of raw outdoor beauty, fresh air, delicious food and indulgent inns, John Chekian reckons that this Alpine walk is unique.
The walk begins in one of the most beautiful lakeside towns in France – Annecy and finishes in the alpine village of Chamonix. Annecy is a postcard city of canals and Michelin starred restaurants. East of Annecy, near the Swiss border, is the winter resort town of Chamonix. It is a base for hikers, climbers and those wanting take the Aiguille du Midi cable car up to a 3,842 m terrace to view Mont Blanc and surrounding peaks.
The maximum group size is 20 with at least two vehicles for support. Directions are provided for those who like to venture out on more difficult trails; walk as fast or slow as you like and share the trail with whom you choose; don crampons and try a glacier walk with experts if you want to be more adventurous.
BACKROADS PACKAGE INCLUDES: 5 NIGHTS IN PREMIER INNS • BREAKFAST DAILY AND MOST MEALS • GUIDES AND BACKUP SUPPORT TEAM
