A Hand-Made Celebration - Concierge Touch

In May a special birthday celebration became a hard-earned reality in two unique locations in Australia. This event reunited three generations of a globally dispersed family. Guests were invited to share in a program of events for the pleasure of surprising a much-respected family member. The willing invitees travelled from the UK, Europe and Australia. All they were provided with was the reason for the journey, the meeting place, date and clothing advice.

Twelve people were flown to an outback property to kick off the festivities. The chartered flights gave the passengers a birds-eye view of some of Australia’s most stunning natural beauty and ensured the smooth running of the whole journey.

The first stay was at a working cattle farm that offered gourmet food, fine wine and soft sheets. The group was able to join a muster then relax and share the grand occasion of a candelit birthday dinner on the terrace.

Next stop was a luxurious island. Some of the pre-arranged surprises meant a day’s fishing for the men and some spa time for the ladies. Optional walks, snorkelling and diving were also available. On the final evening another birthday celebration was staged on the beachfront. This meal was the carefully staged crescendo of the program: first the champagne, then a spectacular dégustation menu was served.

One final flight brought them all back to reality in Cairns. Some stayed on for more touring and others beat a reluctant path homeward.

It all added up to effortless enjoyment but the success of the event was all in the months of careful and enjoyable planning.
