1. Ko Tapu – Thailand

Ko Tapu, literally “nail island”, is part of Ao Phang Nga National Park, and in 1974 it was featured in the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun. Locals now commonly refer to it as James Bond Island, and we can help organise a day trip to visit one of the most beautiful parts of Thailand. Most of the island is covered with limestone scrubland and pretty, evergreen trees. You’ll also find over a hundred species of bird.

Ian Fleming’s James Bond novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1963) featured the restaurant, and in the movie version in 1969 James Bond was featured escaping the baddies and skiing down the nearby mountain slopes. The lower level of Piz Gloria now features a James Bond exhibition, complete with memorabilia and film clips.

3. Monte Carlo – Monaco

Any James Bond fan will have a soft spot for Monte Carlo. The casino and numerous locations about the city acted as locations in several movies, including Never Say Never Again and GoldenEye. It’s definitely one of the most glamorous Bond locations, and the Monte Carlo Casino continues to attract tourists looking to recreate the Bond experience for themselves. Watch that poker face.

4. Lake Pichola – Udaipur, India

Climbing the stairs to the famous Lake Palace will take you back to James Bond’s Octopussy and deep into a movie set still resplendent with nature’s charms. Before the steps were carved into the rocks during the 1920s, ladders provided the only access to the monasteries set high on stunning cliff tops above the Peneas Valley. The monastery of Holy Trinity was transformed into a filming location for James Bond and his For Your Eyes Only counterparts in 1981.

7. Ian Fleming’s house – Jamaica

In 1961, Dr. No put Jamaica on the map. It was the first Bond film and featured Ursula Andress emerging from the sea wearing a dazzling white bikini and clutching a conch shell. Men and women alike were mesmerised. Three of the Bond books feature scenes in Jamaica: Live and Let Die, Dr. No, and The Man with the Golden Gun. Today, writer Ian Fleming’s house, Goldeneye, is a resort. You can even visit the desk where he wrote most of the Bond books.
