Trek in Nepal & helicopter around Everest – 13 days

Join Tashi Tenzing on an easy-paced trek through pine-scented, rhododendron forests, to welcoming Sherpa villages aflutter with prayer flags, past ancient monasteries with gold-tipped stupas and into a wilderness of rock and ice beneath the world’s highest mountain. At night we stay in gorgeous Sherpa lodges, enjoying breathtaking vistas, delicious food and warm conversation.

Days 1-3 Kathmandu/Lukla/Phakding
Transfer from airport to hotel for two nights, and sightseeing tour, before flight to Lukla. A three-hour trek along the Dudh Kosi River takes us to Sano Gomila monastery, Rimijung Gompa and our lodge at Phakding.

Days 4-6 Monjo/Namche
3-5 hours of gentle trekking each day, great food and lodging at night, as we follow the Dudh Kosi to Chumo, ascend to Monjo, follow the Bhote Kosi into Sagarmantha National Park before the climb to Namche Bazaar. Weather permitting, first spectacur views of Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Visit 50th Anniversary Everest Memorial Stupa, Sherpa museum and local markets.

Days 7-8 Thame
4-5 hour walk through pine and rhododendron forests takes us over Nangpa La, through Thomo and Samden, across the Bhote Kosi, then up 200m for two nights in famous Sherpa village, Thame. Visit Thame Monastery and Thame Gompa for breathtaking mountain views.

Days 9-10 Kongde
6-hour trek to Kongde crosses the Bhote Kosi, visit a traditional Sherpa village, enjoy pine and bamboo forests and panoramic views of the Khumbu Valley. For two nights relax in comfort, enjoying panoramic views of Tengboche monastery, Namche and Khumjung villages.

Day 11 Everest flight/Lukla
Weather permitting, board a B3 Euro helicopter, to be whisked over Gokyo Lakes, through narrow mountain passes, above Everest Base camp for a bird’s eye view of the Khumbu Glacier, then back to Lukla to connect with Kathmandu flight. If weather is unfavourable, we trek back to Lukla via Phakding and overnight in mountain lodge.

Days 12-13 Kathmandu
We spend one or two nights (depending on Lukla flight) at our group hotel, enjoying sights and sounds of Kathmandu before transfer to international airport.

Nepal Classic Everest trek includes: Total 4 nights Kathmandu, airport transfers, Kathmandu sightseeing tour and while trekking, all meals, accommodation, gear package, helicopter flight from Kongde to Lukla, porter and guiding services.
