Your favourite hotel & why?
The Imperial Hotel In New Delhi. In the past decade it has undergone the most remarkable transformation from a shabby colonial old favourite to one of the most outstandingly attractive and appealing hotels in the world. The artworks and creative treatment of this colonial gem now stands as a testament to the great designs of Lutyens when modern New Delhi was on the drawing board. It is a sumptuous oasis of calm in the chaos of Delhi and literally sings about the colonial roots of many of the cities buildings.

Your favourite airline & why?
Singapore Airlines because they still believe that service matters as much as safety and comfort and they seem to operate, in the  main, on schedule.

A recommendation for our clients?
A moderately priced  lunch in an ambient bistro in Paris. A meal that thrills but does not break the budget.

Most memorable moment when travelling?
Gazing at the vastness of the horizon in the Namib Desert by day and taking in the awsome sight of the universe of stars, including the Milky Way, uder crystal clear night skies.

Favourite thing about travelling?
The power of the natural environment still remaining to be witnessed.

Least favourite thing about travelling?
Having to come home and do the washing.

Couldn’t leave home without?
Something new to look forward to seeing or experiencing on the way.

Next journey & why you want to go there?
Return to Zambia to see more of its national parks. The people have not yet become blase about visitors and the country remains relatively pristine in its beauty. The land and riverine anilmal life is astonishingly prolific.
