Ibiza for grown ups - how to do it in style

Think you missed your calling to Ibiza? Think again. Grab nine of your best friends, add in a villa with pool, jacuzzi and incredible views and live it up on the hedonistic island of fun.

Ibiza is for the young at heart. Not just the young. In fact, there is no better time to do Ibiza than for a 40th or 50th birthday celebration with a group of your best friends. The kids are finally old enough to be left alone for a few weeks so you can take some well deserved time out for yourselves. And there is more to Ibiza than just the inside of the clubs. In fact, this Balearic Island is completely underrated for it's offerings away from Playa d'en Bossa and San Antonio.

Here's a few tips on what to include in Ibiza during your next European holiday.

1. Treat yourself to a spa treatment with a view at La Posidonia.

Treatments include the Cascadas Suspendidas - an outdoor treatment consisting of 8 different pools heated at different temperatures which provide high pressure hydro jet massages starting from the soles of your feet and finishing with your head.

2. Enjoy a lazy long lunch and a swim on a secret beach at Cala Bonita

A few minutes north of Ibiza town just over the hill from Jesus, an old gem has been given a fresh new start. Perched on a secret beach at the end of a dusty camino the decade’s old restaurant has been lovingly restored and updated with natural materials to create an elegant yet rustic space featuring a restaurant, tapas bar, beach and cocktails. Long lazy lunches are served in the open air restaurant terrace overlooking the ocean and the beach.

The menu while firmly rooted in locally sourced ingredients and Mediterranean flavours has an interesting and modern edge.

3. Watch the sun go down from Sunset Ashram

Described as one of the best places to watch the sunset, Sunset Ashram is a beach bar with as much of a focus on nature as the music. Far from the young crowds, Sunset Ashram offers a great option to turn day into night.

4. Hire a luxury yacht for the day to explore Ibiza's many beaches

One of the nice things about getting older is being able to afford some of life's luxuries. Charter your own private yacht and beach hop your way around the island, discovering hidden bays and deserted beaches.

5. Hit the clubs

You couldn't do a trip to Ibiza without at least one trip to one of the island's infamous clubs. The drinks are expensive, the crowds will be young and the music will be loud. What more could you want?
