Australia and the South Pacific
Australia lingers long in the memory for the iconic Uluru, the wondrous Barrier Reef, tropical islands and rainforests, national parks such as Kakadu, the edge of the world feel of pristine Tasmania, rolling vineyards, deserts and its vibrant capital cities, each one revealing a completely different aspect of the nations’s psyche.
New Zealand is renowned for its magnificent natural beauty, outdoor attractions and just about every adventure activity you can think of. Its environments range from the isolated wilderness of Stewart Island to Maori culture centred in Rotorua and the more inhabited feel of northern cities such as Auckland and Wellington.
Other South Pacific nations that make up the rest of the South Pacific region allow a traveller to fall in with the rythmns of the sea and to experience some the modern-day remnants of tamed Polynesian cultures. Tonga, Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands, are a mix of vibrant and not so vibrant cultures, moderately-paced and and slow-paced nations, ideal for holidays and far from the cares of the industrialised world.
