DAY 1 – FROM CENTRAL VALLEY TO ARENAL: NARANJO COFFEE & TOWN EXPERIENCE
You will be picked up at your hotel in San Jose for a private ground transfer to Arenal; on the way you will visit a Coffee Plantation and enjoy the picturesque town of Naranjo. After a delicious Costa Rican lunch at El Chayote Lodge, you will continue your trip to Arenal.
Naranjo is a small charming town known for having some of the best Costa Rican coffee plantations. Over two hundred years of coffee cultivation have marked Naranjo as a mecca in the production of some of the finest coffees of the world, achieving several world awards for its quality.
Our first stop will be at the Espiritu Santo Coffee Estate where we will learn the secrets of this famous drink that has conquered the world. We will be able to understand all of the stages of the coffee, from the seed to the cup. The visit takes place in a farm own by a local cooperative of coffee growers, where an amazing landscape of rolling hills provides a unique scenery. After our coffee tour, we will continue to the Municipal Market, where vegetables, fruits, meats and other products are for sale for the local population. Our guide will tell us about the different fruits and explain how they are used and consumed in our homes. Visit the local church, the Basilica of the Lady of Piedades, reconstructed after several earthquakes in the 1940s. Afterwards we will continue to Chayote lodge were you will have a delicious typical lunch.

DAY 2 – VOLUNTEERING AT PROYECTO ASIS WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTRE
Take part of this wonderful educational experience, learn and see Costa Rican wildlife up close.
Proyecto Asis is an organization that supports local, environmental, social and conservations projects within the community. Take part of this wonderful educational experience, learn and see Costa Rican wildlife up close. If you like to get more involved working with the animals, we recommend you the volunteer activity. This activity allows you a unique opportunity to not only be near the wild animals, but also help in their rehabilitation. Return to hotel.
In the later afternoon, visit the volcanic thermal mineral pools at Tabacón Hot Springs, where you can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak and enjoy of a delicious dinner.
DAY 3 – ARENAL VOLCANO HIKE - DEPARTURE
Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike along the base of this marvellous volcano. The hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano, this trail will take us through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 now in the process of regeneration. We are going to be on this trail for about 2 1⁄2 hours.

DAY 1 – FROM SAN JOSÉ TO MANUEL ANTONIO, CENTRAL PACIFIC COAST
Pick up at the hotel for your private transfer to the famous Manuel Antonio, Quepos.
It is considered to be Costa Rica’s most beautiful park, with enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest forest alive with wildlife.

DAY 2 – MANUEL ANTONIO RAINFOREST AND NATIONAL PARK
Take a leisurely hike with a highly trained, well-educated Costa Rican naturalist guide through our exotic, bio-diverse tropical rain forest preserved in our 34 year old Manuel Antonio National Park.See how many different kinds of flora and fauna you can spot just in the span of a 2 1⁄2 hour nature walk or hike. Snacks are offered during the tour, and guest may remain in the park after wards.
DAY 3 – MANGROVE/DAMAS ISLAND KAYAKING – SUNSET CATAMARAN SAIL
Transportation provided to the put in shore. During the 20-minute drive your guide will explain some of the scenery highlights. This tour allows you to explore the wonders of the mangrove ecosystem. You will set out in a river called Paquita facing an island and float along the soft currents under a verdant forest canopy. Make sure you keep your eyes wide pen so you can spot the innumerable aviary species, snakes, ant eaters and white faced monkeys. While you silently observe this rich habitat your guide will offer explanations about the nature specimens found in this unique region. This tour takes you through the natural canals and provides an ideal opportunity to observe heron species, kingfishers, ospreys, frigots and other migratory birds. As you journey through the brackish waters you can catch glimpses of the island as you pass beneath tunnels made naturally from tree growths. As this tour takes you across the waters for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, lunch can be arranged before or after the trip. It does not require previous experience. The kayaks are available in 1 passenger and 2 passenger format.
Sail aboard the Tom Cat or the Spanish Dancer. Come aboard and see the many dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and birds of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. The tour includes snorkeling equipment and a tour of the offshore islands. We also stop for a leisurely swim at one of the white sand beaches and dive on the underwater reefs of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. Enjoy a feast of fresh fruits, grilled fish brochettes, pasta salad, drinks and the finest hospitality. We offer your choice of a morning sail into the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve or a sunset sail.

DAY 1 – FROM SAN JOSÉ TO BAJOS DEL TORO: VISITING ELSE KIENZLER BOTANICAL GARDEN & SARCHI OXCART FACTORY
Guests will be picked up at their San Jose hotel and transferred to Arenal. On the way we will stop at Else Kientzler Botanical Garden, in Sarchí, Costa Rica's most famous handicrafts center and land of origin for the popular "carretas" (painted oxcarts). This lovely botanical garden offers a stunning exhibition of over 2,000 species of plants from all over the world, spread over 7 hectares (17 acres). Visitors will be able to stroll through a 2-kilometer pathway while admiring the property's immaculate gardens that overflow with rare plants and flowers, fruit trees, butterflies and birds.
Afterwards we will visit Eloy Alfaro Fabrica de Carretas, a workshop that keeps alive the tradition of oxcart manufacturing, since 1923 through an efficient hydraulic energy system that generates 12 horsepower, powered by a nearby river called Trojan, which sets in motion all the machinery required in the workshop. Guests will step back in time into the 19th century and learn about how oxcarts were traditionally built and how do they carefully decorate them. The oxcart plays a key role in Costa Rica's history, as it was anciently used to transport coffee beans to the Pacific and Atlantic Coast for its further export by boat to USA and Europe.
Guests will also have the chance to purchase handicrafts in a local gift shop. Finally we will drive to Bajos del Toro through a panoramic road that passes through small rural towns and farms.

Guests will be picked up at their San Jose hotel and transferred privately to the local terminal. We are blessed to have one of the largest and most pristine river systems in Costa Rica just a few short beaches away. The river mouth mangroves lead to picturesque views of the forest and remote farms. The diverse terrain allows for some of the best bird watching in the area especially at sunrise and sunset. Our boat tows your kayak to the mouth of the river where you will embark on a peaceful excursion and experience the magic of nature while cruising down the river.
DAY 3 – PIEDRAS BLANCAS NATURE HIKE
With the beauty and convenience of the surrounding National Park, Playa Cativo guests don’t have to go far to see nature at its best. Networks of trails in nearly every direction from the lodge are waiting for your discovery. Parts of Playa Cativo are rugged and steep due to its characteristic topography, so trails are rated for different excursion levels, from touring to challenging. The flora of Piedras Blancas National Park is among the richest on the planet, with several thousand different species of plants and hundreds of trees, some very rare and in danger of extinction. It is very similar to the nearby Corcovado National Park but less visited. Piedras Blancas has even more tree species than Corcovado. The fauna is composed of approximately 140 species of mammals, 350 species of birds, over 100 amphibians and reptiles and several thousand insects. Get ready to hike through the virgin rainforest. DAY 4 – DEPARTURE
Land transfer back to local airstrip to take a charter flight to the SAN JOSE, arrival and transfer to International Airport to catch your flight back home.
