THE RESIDENCE

The design evokes turn-of-the century sugar plantation houses and the all-white colour scheme is brilliant against the green foliage and azure swimming pool. The two-level lobby is a grand space.  It is dominated by impressive white pillars, carved wooden balustrades and the filigree timber lacework that adorns traditional Creole homes.

This Residence is furnished with colonial armchairs and seductive chaise lounges, while the balconies on the upper level are romantic spots to take in the views over the sculptured swimming pool and Indian Ocean beyond. A space to embrace ocean breezes while indulging in a cocktail or two.

The building sits on a long arc of beach at Belle Mare, on the island’s beautiful east coast. The 135 stunningly appointed rooms and 28 suites, each with balcony, patio or terrace, are grouped in wings on either side of the grand lobby. Guests can choose from garden rooms overlooking a cascading waterfall, a leafy sanctuary dotted with coconut palms, or ocean view and ocean front rooms.  All are spacious with walk in robes, large marble bathrooms with separate soak tub and shower room.
